May 2014 Project Life Pages Share

Hello all,

I am very pleased to announce I was finally able to upload my May 2014 Project Life Page Share video to my Youtube Channel today, you can check out the video below...

My absolute favorite pages from May are the pages I created for my new cat Maxwell. I used the Simple Stories Cat Collection to complete the page and the collection is amazing, to say the least. I love everything about it, including the gorgeous orange color scheme.  I believe there is also a dog collection as well that is just as amazing for those of you that are interested. I would highly recommend both collection.

It came out so much better than I had even imagined! The total spread for May is 9 pages in total, a tad bit long, but I love how it came out.
I have already started working on my June 2014 pages, and it's moving along quite nicely. I'm hoping to have it up by Oct 5th'ish! <--- is that a word? I don't think so, ha ha!

Posting Time Frame for Future Project Life Videos:

October 5th - JUNE 2014 pages
October 12th - JULY 2014 pages
 October 19th - AUGUST 2014 pages
October 26th - SEPTEMBER 2014 pages
November 9th - October 2014 pages

It's a VERY VERY aggressive schedule, but I'm going to do what I can to keep to it. I really need to catch up before things get outta control completely, lol. I did a lot of traveling this year and it was tough to keep up. Have no fear...there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel!

Thanks for visiting, and please leave your comments below. I love hearing from you guys!

Thanks for visiting and much more coming soon...

Tim Holtz Mini Distress Ink Haul

Evening :) I hope everyone is enjoying the week so far. Today I have a haul from Scrapbook Warehouse. This is by far one of my favorite places to shop for scrapbooking supplies online. The haul includes the complete collection of Tim Holtz Mini Distress Inks. I put up a video on my youtube channel that includes some current updates as well as this haul.

for those of you that so not watch Youtube here are some details...

For a very long time (since they were released) I fought the urge to purchase these, and I finally broke down and took the plunge, lol. I do have several of the full sized pads, but between the cost and the storage space needed to store them, I decided the minis where a better was to go. Plus they are super cute, how can you say no? :)

One of the big selling points for me was the cute storage tins that hold the ink pads as well as the fact that the blending foams, used with the blending tool, fit perfectly under each ink pad. Now I no longer have to go crazy trying to find extra storage space for all those little loose foam pieces, since I like to have one designated foam for each color. I tried double stick taping them to the underneath side of the regular size distress ink pads, and it was not working out well for me.  This is so much more convenient.

I also have a few updates:

 - My May 2014 Project Life Page share will be posted to Youtube in a couple of days

 - I am working on the Scrapbook Q&A Video that I was tagged in. I wasn't able to film it while I was away.

- One Happy Mail Video is coming soon to my Youtube Channel

- Several Haul videos are coming soon to my Youtube channel showcasing Halloween items

- Several Giveaways are coming soon to my Youtube Channel

- Each week in October a new Project Life Share video will be up (June, July, August and September. By the end of October I should be all caught up.

Stay tuned for all the fun!!! See you all again soon!

SSS Copic Coloring For Card Markers Class Update

In a last minute sort of way, I decided to take Simon Says Stamps Copic Coloring For Cardmakers Class (say that 10 times fast, lol).  We are on Day 4, so I thought It would be fun to share my practice sheets. In just 4 days my coloring has dramatically improved,  and I have this class to thank for it. This is my first time taking this sort of class, and it will not be the last. I regret not doing these online classes sooner. So here are days 1-4...

DAY 1: Blending Basics

This was a super fun first day of class. There were 5 videos and it was just let it all out!! The idea was just to get to coloring and start blending. Though I have been using copics for awhile now, there are still things to be learned. I even discovered a few new color combinations that I love.

Here are the new color combos I have discovered just from practicing on Day 1.  I love the way these colors blend.  In the color combination to the right I combined 3 colors from 3 different color families (a method usually frowned upon), but this class has taught me that it's okay to do that, and opens the door for so much more...

DAY 2: Blending Tricks

This session was super fun. We learned that in case you do not have a midtone marker (when using a lighter and darker marker) you can use the tip to tip method. Touching your lighter copic to the tip of a darker copic to make a midtone color. Very cool. I love the coloring on the second bird. SO SO fun and different.

DAY 3: Get More Mileage Out of Your Markers

This was my favorite day of classes. We learned that you can shade with Gray to fill in for markers you may have missing. I actually LOVE this more than uisng the 3 marker color technique. Check out my practice sheets to see how cool this is...

This is an example using yellows and adding in a C2 gray marker to shade. I just think it's more realistic looking and I'll be using this technique on a go forward!

DAY 4:  Turning on the Lights

This was probably the class I dreaded the most. Shading with Copics depending on the light source or direction of light source. This is my weakest area in copic coloring, but this class really helped me get over my fear.

This is the light source coming from the left.

And this is a more directional or center light focus.

We also learned about 'flicking' your marker to make whispy lines, but that didn't go down so well for me. I'm going to have to continue with practice on that technique.

Overall I just love the class so far and I have learned to just 'let go' with my Copics and relax and not be afraid to try something new. I can not recommend this class enough.  The cost of the class is 35$ USD and for what you get, it is a real steal. The great thing - it's not too late. You can watch the daily videos at your own pace and they are available for a lifetime once you sign up.  You can watch them at any time. You also get access to all the practice sheets and discount codes too!

Thanks for visiting and stay tuned more more class updates coming soon!!!

Filofaxing...

Hi Guys,

First, I want to apologize for the last 2 posts that kinda went wonky, lol. The pictures for some reason did not post correctly and looked blank once I was able to get to a real computer (versus viewing them on a portable device).  I decided to just start over an re-post things with the pictures corrected.

Second, I wanted to give you guys a summary of the Filofax decorating I did while I was in NY. I wasn't able to share project life stuff with you guys while on my vacation so I did the next best thing...Filofax Decorating :)

Here are the spreads I did while I was away...

WEEK 34

WEEK 35

WEEK 36

WEEK 37

I have videos for each of these spreads up on MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL so check them out if you get a chance :) As much as I enjoyed doing something new, I can not promise to continue these for the rest of the year.  Project life takes up ALL of my time, and it would be close to impossible to try and keep up with both. Speaking of Project Life, I will soon be catching that up as well. In my next post I will have details on my plans for catching up Project Life with a time table for Share Videos!

Thanks so much for reading guys, and I will have a bunch of posts up this weekend so please subscribe via email to my blog posts. You can do so by entering your email in the top right corner of my blog where it says "follow by email', and this way you don't miss out on all the fabulous posts coming soon.

Changes coming soon...

As many of you may know, I'm currently traveling and in NY until the end of September. My poor blog has been neglected for too long lol. So instead of fretting about it, I'm going to step up to the plate and make some improvements (Yipppeeee).

First, Instead of just posting links to my Project Life Share videos on YouTube I will be adding layout still shots to each post. For those of you that do not watch videos, the still shots will be available. Here are some example shots ...

I also will be including still shots of custom Project Life cards I make. Individual 4x6 and 3x4 pocket style cards. Here are a few of my favorites that I have recently created.

I enjoy going the extra mile to create these cards. Overall, I would like to post more pictures on a go forward.

Since I'm currently traveling and on the road making any major changes and sometimes even posts on blogger here can be complicated, so expect changes to take effect in the start of October.

I would love your thoughts. If you have any suggestions please post them in the comments section here. Thanks for visiting. Each visit is appreciated!
